Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains (including chronic pain), decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity and body awareness, and greater flexibility. More specifically there is evidence based research indicating that massage therapy aids in the reduction of knee arthritis, easing the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, lowering blood pressure, boosting immune system function, decreasing anxiety and depression, reducing headaches and helping to mitigate the symptoms of fibromyalgia.

Reiki & Distance Reiki

Reiki was developed in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is an evidence-based spiritual and vibrational healing practice that promotes holistic balance and helps the body (of the receiver) remember its inherent wisdom and self-healing mechanisms to establish optimum health. Any disturbance in the body, mind, or spirit reflects a disturbance in the whole system. When you experience emotional or physical illness or dis-ease, it indicates that your life force has become disturbed and that your systems are in need of homeostasis. Reiki is non-invasive and utilizes a gentle laying on of hands and presencing to channel universal life energy, yet it can also be offered as a distance healing session. Like fish in water, we are surrounded by a sea of energy that can be influenced by awareness and presence, energy knows no bounds.

The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain to supporting spiritual growth. Reiki regulates the nervous system by affecting and improving your physiological breathing, heart rate, muscle tension, unfolding a sense of centeredness and safety, and healing of the heart-mind connection. Reiki facilitates the activation of our "rest and digest" parasympathetic nervous system, offering the peace and grounding necessary to promote integral healing: on a physical, vital, emotional, mental, and spiritual level.

Kasa Healing Reiki sessions whether in person or distance also include guided visualization/imagery, an oracle card reading, and an embodied/somatic practice. {When booking Massage-Reiki blend session, I suggest the "mystic healing add-on" in the booking page if you are also interested in the oracle reading and guided visualization with embodied/somatic practice}

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Ritual & Ceremony Facilitation

In-person or remotely, together let's re-member and co-create meaningful and personalized rituals & ceremonies to assist in any kind of transitions, life cycle events, celebrations, commemorations, or terminations. Change is a natural part of life and finding ways to honor, ease, and support transitions of all sorts dates back to our human origins.

Rituals and ceremonies bring us closer to the sacredness that is always around us and within us and which we can tap into by creating ceremonial practices (whether simple or elaborate) that bring us closer to All That Is. Rituals ground us in the present moment, create a time and space to connect, to release, to focus and align our intentions with our actions, provide a space to honor our integrity, to tap into the energies we need, to remember who we really are, to communicate across realms and within this one, to “channel our actions and feelings”, and to experience the Divine.

Rituals and ceremonies are created alongside you and your intentions according to your belief system and what has meaning and value for you (and your family). It is an honor to help you create a sacred container for your transformations.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy based on the same principles as acupuncture. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - "shi" (finger) and "atsu" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the meridians (energy pathways of your body), gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is based on one the most ancient principles of healing - that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and blockages, therefore, restore your energetic pathways to optimal health and function as well as tune up the functioning of internal organs. This powerful modality has been shown to very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.

Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Massage)

Abhyanga is the anointing of the body with oils (or oil based cream) to soothe and nourish the body holistically, relief tension, and support detoxification. Abhyanga is a true head to toe full body massage which also includes the abdomen, face, hands, and feet. It consists of rhythmic broad and long strokes, invigorating scalp massage, and circular strokes along all the joints and certain Marma points. Marmas are special energetic points in the body with relationships to organ function, metabolism, and emotional states (similar to acupressure points); the stimulation of these points promotes a balancing of their energies in the body.

Myofascial Massage/Release

Myofascial release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, thus rebalancing the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the adhesions that exist between the fascia, muscles, and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and encases all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain and tension.

Prenatal & Postnatal Massage

Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Both prenatally and postnatally a woman's body goes through and endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes experienced. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, massage therapy helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. Beyond this, Kasa Healing also offers post-partum services such as abdominal massage {taught to you with follow-up instructions for continued care}, bengkung belly binding applied to the abdomen and around the hips {done with a long cotton cloth to provide strong support to the womb and pelvic floor}, and herbal-vaginal steaming {with instructions for how to do it yourself at home}.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points refer pain to other parts of the body and are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Infant/Child Massage

Infant Massage is designed specifically to promote the healthy development of your infant and a loving bond between parents/caregivers and children. Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy thriving baby; infant massage increases physiological stability, promotes optimal psycho-emotional well-being, and supports structural and functional infant brain development. Benefits are potent and numerous, for example, many infants show improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system, moreover, massage stimulates the baby's body awareness and self-esteem. Infant massage has also been shown to improve the quality of a baby's sleep, as well as strengthening their immune system, and assist in alleviating constipation. All these benefits apply to older children as well, and all persons under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian present to receive any massage therapy treatment. All sessions include teaching caregivers/guardians/parents how to continue some massage therapy techniques at home and principles about holistic parenting.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics or fitness. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home, workplace, or special event. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. Chair massages are done over clothing and sessions range from 10-30 minutes, thus facilitating massage therapy in open spaces and for multiple people.
